We need to get rid of the DRMC CEO "Humphreys"

This man has no desire to improve the situation at DRMC. He does not respond as required by VA. law to complaints and takes no action to correct problems. He gets these news releases full of lies and treats Doctors like property, patients as income, and employees as idiots. The radiology department is understaffed and is not capable of reading MRI's properly and he doesn't see this as a problem. Not enough nurses because Lifepoint doesn't want to pay. Another round of firings/layoffs and the worst is yet to come. As long as Jeral Humphreys is at the helm and Jess Judy is over him, the problems will only get worse. Lifepoint is interested in profits and shareholder interests only; the patient is the lowest priority. They have run off some outstanding doctors and now we are only able to recruit substandard doctors to the area (case in point Dr. Hurtado). This town needs a responsible Neurologist, but no good one will come here; after all his reputation can only be as good as the hospital he is affiliated with. Other practices are trying to recruit to no avail. Humphreys must go, we need a local person who cares about the hospital and community to run the show without Jess Judy's interference or it will get worse.

Mike,
All due respect, but can you seriously look at the revolving door at DRMC's "C" level and put all of the issues from the past three years at the feet of Humphreys??

And to your point "we need a local person who cares about the hospital and community", that seems to run counter to LPNT's core strategy.

I think it's time to find a much bigger tree to bark up than this "impeach Humphreys" stuff.

Besides, the community doesn't think anything is wrong at DRMC. Those that raise the issues are branded as disgruntled employees and all of the leadership groups put in place to "study" the problems are very quickly snowed over by LPNT and make no substantive contribution to improvement or progress. The 'news'paper is happy to keep reporting "nothing to see here citizens...move along".

Until this apathy changes, nothing else will.

It is unfortunate that the average person has not seen what goes on in this hospital. Humphreys is the captain of a sinking ship. It is both him and his superiors that are blowing holes in the bottom. Humphreys still won't respond to complaints, nor does he want to fix problems. This makes this hospital unsafe. I have seen first hand how the nurses are understaffed and on the 5th floor there is a black woman who always has her nametag backwards that is totally useless. Humphreys saw no problem with that either. I watched a patient getting worse every day with no diagnosis, no serious attempt to diagnose, and a staff that would not respond to serious issues. MRI done and nobody around to read it. When read, it was misread. This is just the beginning, we all know it is getting worse. Mismanagement seems to be the Lifepoint motto.
